NBA restart schedule release: My thoughts & Dates we all need to know

What did I get correct?

When comparing the official schedule to my predictions post from yesterday I was almost spot on. Out of the total 176 games, I was right about 148. I was only perfect with the schedules for three teams (Mavs, Suns, and 76ers,) as most of the teams only had one change done to their own. The teams that had two or more changes done to their schedules were: the Lakers and Rockets (three changes each) and the Clippers, Nuggets, Blazers, Pacers, and Wizards (two changes each.)

What do I think?

The league was able to make some big regular-season matches such as Lakers vs Clippers, Clippers vs Celtics and Nuggets vs Jazz just a few examples. They have made this period a bit more exciting with games between teams who are closely ranked in their respective conferences, which have the potential to shake up the seeding drastically.  Now that we have everything finalized, however, I think the fight for the playoffs is even more interesting. I will go more in-depth into my thoughts about the playoff race in another post so let’s talk about the key dates for this season.

Important dates that you need to know.

July 30th: The NBA season returns.

August 15-16th: 8th seed play-in games (if needed)

August 17th: Playoffs commence / Last day to declare for NBA Draft.

August 25th: NBA Draft Lottery

August 31st: Conference Semifinals begin.

September 15th: Conference Finals start.

September 30th: NBA Finals begin.

October 13th: NBA Finals game 7 (if needed)

October 18th: Start of free agency.

There are more important dates, but I just listed to ones these because I think these are the dates that the majority of NBA care about.
